The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, (also known as Ice Age: Buck Wild or Adventures of Buck Wild) is a movie special, released on Disney+ on 28 January 2022. It serves as both a spin-off film to the Ice Age franchise and a prequel and pilot to the animated series Buck Wild.

One month ater the events of Ice Age: Collision Course, Crash and Eddie had an argument with their sister and decide to come back to the old Valley to go back in the Dinosaur World and reuniting with Buck so they can live a life of adventures just like them. Buck agrees so they can help him defeat a group of rogue dinosaurs that are causing chaos in the underground world. Meanwhile Manny, Sid, Diego and Ellie will have to go back to the Lost World to bring them back to the Herd.

On August 2018, 20th Century Fox CEO announced that a TV series was in development.

On October 25, 2019, after Disney bought the studio, it was announced that the film was still in development and will be released on Disney+.

Despite it being rumored to be a series, the spin-off was officially confirmed to be a film on the Disney expo at December 2020 where the title was revealed to be Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild with the confirmation of Simon Pegg's return and the presence of Crash and Eddie.

After the closing of Blue Sky, it was announced that the film will not be produced by Blue Sky Studios and that the studio was never even involved in the project.

On October 1, 2021, Disney made a post of the characters of the film revealing the presence of Manny, Sid, Diego, Scrat and Ellie.

On November 12, 2021, a trailer was released revealing the release date and it was announced that Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott and Josh Peck didn't reprise their roles of Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie and Crash and Eddie as they would be replaced by Sean Kenin, Jake Green, Skyler Stone, Dominique Jennings, Vincent Tong and Aaron Harris, respectively.

  • It's the first Ice Age film produced by Bardel Entertainment.
  • And the first time that Scrat and Peaches don't appear in the film. Scrat doesn't appear due to the fact that he's still stuck in space but he's seen in a drawing in Buck's den as an Easter Egg while Peaches moved out with Julian to start a family of their own.
  • This is the first Ice Age media to not be produced by Blue Sky Studios.
  • This would also mark the first Ice Age production to be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.
  • It was released for the 20th anniversary of the first Ice Age film.
  • Simon Pegg later mocked the film while making and during his appearance at the 75th British Academy Film Awards. the actor gave a speech where he advised not to laugh while talking about terrible disaster movies after discussing Don't Look Up saying: "So best to avoid laughing while avoiding terrible disaster movies. If you want to do that, I can recommend a terrible disaster animated film that I voiced and starred in and is on Disney+ it called The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild. Please don't watch this film in my country. You should probably avoid that movie."
